A bit about me

Hi, I’m John! Also known as The Dog Dude. I am 30 years young and I have been the owner and sole operator of The Dog Dude since 2019. I love and am passionate about caring for animals of all kinds and I have a Certificate II in Animal Studies, including animal first aid.

The Dog Dude is fully insured. I have police and current working with children checks and these can be supplied when I meet you. You can be certain your pet and your home is in reliable and safe hands.

Alongside being The Dog Dude, I have also been a qualified electrician for close to a decade, but I now happily call The Dog Dude my full time job!

Outside of work I love surfing, running and hanging out with my wife and two children. On the weekends you can most likely catch me at Dixon Park beach, if I’m not with one of your pooches, that is!

If your life is busy with work or you’re not so mobile at the moment, let me come to your home and walk your dog, daily or weekly – as often as you need. While you’re on holidays or if you just like to know your pet has had some play, been fed, and is safe and secure while you’re at work, I can come to your home and make this happen.

Simply contact me to arrange a complimentary meet and greet. We can meet, discuss any plans and requests you have for your animals and make sure your animals know and feel comfortable with me.

Dog Walking

Your dog will be given the utmost care and attention and at no time will your dog be left unattended. My aim is for your dog to be well exercised and relaxed after a walk.

Your dog will always be walked on-leash for their safety.
This on-leash walk includes me coming to your home and taking your dog for a walk around your local area.
I walk in all kinds of weather to make sure your dog doesn’t miss out.
I’m fit and love to exercise so if you have an extra active dog that loves to do some running just let me know, I’ll happily include that in their session.

Pet Sitting & Home Visits

If you’re time poor, working during the day, planning a weekend getaway or longer holiday let me help out by providing my in-your-home pet sitting service. This service can be provided for animals of all kinds including, but not limited to: dogs, cats, birds, bunnies and guinea pigs.

This means you don’t have to stress your pet by putting them in a kennel or cattery and they can stay happily in their familiar, comfortable home environment

Pet sitting includes:

Play time and cuddles with each animal.
Food and water bowls cleaned and refilled.
Poop removal.
A walk in your local neighbourhood for dogs that need some exercise.
Daily reports via email, SMS or facebook for your pleasure and reassurance.
Other duties for those on holidays, such as bins and mail, can be included on request.
